"Spanish Bidding companies"

Our colleagues Beatriz and Francesca, from Euro-Funding’s Multilateral Projects Department, have just attended the 7th Edition of Spanish Bidding Companies, which took place on October 18-19. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, together with other Spanish institutions (Tenerife Licita, Asociación Española de Cooperación al Desarrollo-AECID, etc.), and with the participation of the European Commission, EBRD, African Development Bank) and a wide representation of companies.

This year’s event had a special focus on Africa, with various panels and workshops on experiences and opportunities in the multilateral sector. Within this framework, the presence of Spanish companies on the African continent, the importance of the internationalization of companies in a globalized environment and business opportunities in the region from the perspective of multilateral financing were highlighted. The role of financial institutions in the multilateral market, both public (ICO, CESCE, COFIDES) and private, and European external action and the main financial instruments for projects in Africa, were the main themes of the sessions. In addition, a series of workshops were held, oriented to a wide range of sectors such as engineering and transport, water, agriculture and sanitation, tourism, environment and information technologies, as well as B2B meetings around them, in order to generate synergies and alliances between the different Spanish companies, with the support of the aforementioned institutions.

In this regard and more specifically, our Multilateral Projects colleagues were involved in very significant conversations and meetings with the different stakeholders, in order to explore the different ways to strengthen our contribution to the development of international cooperation, through the management of multilateral projects.
