Euro-funding is proud to adhere to the European Innovation Council’s (EIC) Code of Conduct—an essential framework of ethical guidelines and principles that govern the conduct and operations of all stakeholders engaged with the European Innovation Council. 

The EIC Code of Conduct

The European Innovation Council (EIC) has been established under the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, with a budget of €10.1 billion. Its main objective is to support breakthrough innovations at all stages of the innovation cycle, from early-stage research, proof of concept, and technology transfer to funding and scaling up startups and SMEs.

The EIC works closely with the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), which supports both the EIC Board and its President and is responsible for implementing the annual activities outlined in the EIC Work Programme. The strategy and implementation of the EIC are overseen by the EIC Board, composed of independent members from the innovation ecosystem, including entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, corporate representatives, and other key stakeholders. This board provides guidance and oversight to ensure the EIC achieves its innovation objectives.

The EIC stands out for offering funding through both grants and investments, primarily targeting startups and SMEs. Investments, managed by the EIC Fund, are provided in the form of direct equity or quasi-equity investments, enabling beneficiary companies to drive their growth and scale up their innovations.
